Half way reached today

I got past half way today...in both Roman and English miles.
Easy start at Holmhead BnB and walked 2km uphill to the Roman Army Museum at Walltown.  It is on the site of the ancient roman Fort of Magna.
Fantastic.  Awesome.  Well worth it. It was so good it delayed me an hour more than I was expecting.

Then I did 15km to Twice Brewed. I was aiming for Housestead but heard for people on the walk that there was very little accommodation near it. I tried ringing some BnBs  with no joy...so down to Twice Brewed youth hostel. I dropped my bag of and headed back up the wall and walked to Housestead.  So that was another 7km...Got a lift back with a farmer to the Crag Lough and jogged the remaining 3km back to the ho stel.
27km altogether today. I do have one sore toe.

The wall was fantastic today...walking alongside it all day. We followed many crags and cliffs..impressive views.

The weather was so good today...no jersey at any stage but the northerly wind (think southerly in NZ) was also there when the wall was not sheltering me.

The ladt photo in this post is the bnb I stayed in last night..beautiful.

One really exciting thing...read the next post.
